Gulf Cryo’s U.A.E. and Kuwait liquid carbon dioxide facilities have been awarded the food safety system certification FSSC 22000:2005. The FSSC food safety certification is a standard designed to ensure that each company has taken precautions throughout the supply chain to avoid biological, chemical and physical hazards to the food supply.
Food-grade liquid CO₂ is used in many industries and can be used for modified atmosphere packaging, cold transportation, carbonation and in the production of dry ice. Depending on the application it can increase the life span of food products and provide wider reaching distribution capabilities.
Naji Skaf, CEO at Gulf Cryo said: “Achieving the FSSC 22000 certification is a reflection of an on-going effort to ensure that Gulf Cryo products to the food and beverage industry are of the highest safety and quality standards.”
Jayaseelan Anbalagan, technical director at Gulf Cryo added: “We have extremely high quality food-grade gases and have made a strategic investment into our laboratory equipment to ensure this continues.”
U.A.E. and Kuwait facilities have already been awarded OHSAS 18001: 2007, ISO 14001: 2004 and ISO 9001:2008 certifications.
