Gulf Cryo, the leading manufacturer of industrial, medical and speciality gases in the Middle East, has announced the appointment of Mr Elie Abdallah to the post of corporate human resource director, part of the executive team and Mr Georges EI Khoury in the role of general manager of Gulf Cryo Qatar.
Elie Abdallah will head the corporate human resources team at Gulf Cryo’s head office in Dubai. Elie started his career within a financial environment handling the accounting and administration for an audit firm. On joining Schlumberger as a financial accountant, Elie soon found himself also covering HR and administration functions which led to director roles at METITO and then Air Liquide where he managed the HR and administration function within eleven entities across the Gulf and Levant region. Fluent in Arabic, English and French, Elie replaces Tracylee Gaskin who is pursuing a new consultancy venture.
Gulf Cryo Qatar, which was established in 2009, has continued to exceed business plan expectations over the last two years under the management of Syed Musbasher Murtaza. Syed, who has been with the company for 11 years, has now joined the corporate office as corporate product sourcing director based in Dubai. As a result of this transition, Georges EI Khoury has been appointed to continue to grow Qatar’s impressive list of major projects and proactively source new opportunities for example with emerging World Cup projects.
Georges joins Gulf Cryo from Air Liquide where as industrial business unit manager for the Lebanon and Syria territory, he had full responsibility for profit and loss of the business, managing sales, business development and the commercial and strategic budget plan. Georges holds a masters degree in mechanical engineering from the American University in Beirut, an MBA and is fluent in four languages.
