Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing the IT infrastructure and support operations at Gulf Cryo group including the architecture, development and support of technology systems and platforms that underpin business services. Leads the development of an IT Enterprise Architecture at Gulf Cryo that focuses on priorities including enabling more efficient working through the integration of business systems, the delivery of effective information management, collaboration and IT security functions, and promoting IT as a proactive business partner. Drives the assessment of new technology and integration options, particularly cloud and hybrid models that offer benefits including business continuity and agile, scalable and cost-effective design.

Accountabilities

Leadership & staff development

• Drives the development of professionalism and competency across the IT Operations team, including resource selection and mentoring.
• Able to drive change across the IT technical teams to realign staff skills and capabilities according to strategic outsourcing and cloud services partnerships.
• Motivates and manages team performance and skills development, whilst promoting Gulf Cryo values and organizational culture.

 IT Enterprise Architecture

• Supports the development of an IT Enterprise Architecture at that focuses on priorities including integration of business systems, information management, information security and Disaster Recovery capabilities.
• Manages the organisation’s enterprise architecture roadmap process through the definition and development of business process architecture and strategy.
• Understands and advocates Enterprise Architecture principles and the use of suitable frameworks to successfully conduct analysis, design, planning and implementation activities that support business objectives.

Cloud Services and Systems Integration

• Develops and executes a business-driven cloud and infrastructure strategy that aligns with Gulf Cryo Group IT strategy and the achievement of corporate goals.
• Manages the integration and transition to new cloud applications and infrastructure services, including coordinating with suppliers for option evaluation, and managing projects to deliver business benefits within agreed time, cost and scope.
• Ensures system redundancy and resilience is designed into cloud and infrastructure solutions to support business availability and performance requirements, including Disaster Recovery planning.
• Evaluates and manages partnerships with cloud service providers to achieve fit for purpose, cost-effective and scalable service levels.
• Develops business cases for new IT investments, ensuring that costs, risks and benefits are realistically captured with stakeholder input.

IT Infrastructure Operations Management

• Coordinates ongoing support and maintenance activities for IT cloud and on-premise infrastructure, including servers, storage, databases, application platforms and related systems and networks.
• Effectively manages IT infrastructure service providers, including supplier selection and negotiation of functional and technical specifications and service levels.
• Works closely with external service providers to establish prioritization and escalation of incident resolution, and to ensure we remain in compliance to contractual license and other legal obligations.
• Supports IT management activities of budgeting and resource planning by providing input on business systems, infrastructure and cloud services cost forecasting.
• Works with business stakeholders for IT capacity and availability planning purposes, ensuring that IT solutions and services are right-sized to meet changing business needs.

Information Security & IT Assurance

• Supports the technical implementation and ongoing maintenance of Information Security solutions in response to the changing cyber-security threat landscape.
• Manages the implementation and testing of IT Disaster Recovery solutions for critical data, applications, systems and networks, including plant ICS systems.
• Ensures all IT Change Management processes follow best practice to minimize the risk of business system outages through proper planning, testing and documenting of system changes.

Job Requirements:

Education:

BSc in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

Experience:  

Minimum 10 years working experience in IT Infrastructure Operations or Architecture roles, including leading a team. Previous experience of managing Microsoft Azure and other cloud services strongly preferred.

Computer Skills:

Certification in ITIL Service Management, Microsoft and/or Cisco technologies, with technical knowledge of a broad variety of IT systems.

Working experience of IT architecture planning activities, with certification in TOGAF or other EA framework preferred.

 Languages:   

Excellent level of English proficiency, both written and spoken..
