Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries
Industrial gases have been used in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries ever since commercial production of oil has started. The applications and use of gases are expansive and vary with the operational requirements; nitrogen gas is injected into oil wells in the coil tubing operation applications for improving the fluid recovery. Low explosion limit gas mixtures are used for checking the gas detectors in the refineries. At location where carbon dioxide is available in economic quantities, it is injected in the oil wells for increasing productivity, a process called Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR).

Following is a non-exhaustive list of applications employing industrial gases in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry:

  • Coil Tubing,
  • Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR),
  • Oil Well Stimulation,
  • Purging & Blanketing,
  • Explosimetry,
  • Leak Testing,
  • Analytical Applications

Supply Options:

Gulf Cryo proposes over the fence arrangements for refineries and petrochemical complexes to supply gases such as Oxygen and Nitrogen. Air Separation Units are installed and operated with distribution network of gas supplies. Smaller requirements are catered by employing tube trailers, cylinder racks and high-pressure cylinders. Spot requirements for bulk products during turn around and peak shaving is fulfilled using ISO tanks and road tankers.
